Reality & Practicality

These two words are often used by people when they feel that one is not in sync with her/his surroundings or situations. Thay often ask you to check these two 'essentials' before you take 'another step', which could be of your own will. Its evident in history that no one has done anything exceptionally well or great without going against the tide.... but not just for he heck of going against but rather with a strong belief that this being different is not only right, but also their right.
We all look for approval or acceptance in our deeds & thinking, & we are so much bound & our actions governed by these feelings that anything, just anything at all which is different & also correct is not taken well. People are mocked at, their ideas are thought to be failures even before testing them, they are also made to pay the ultimate price with their lives... just to differ from the so called norm. And the irony is this is all happening in a democracy too.
Democratic societies are proudly lablled to be free. Among many such presumed freedoms is also the freedom of speech, religious beliefs and everything else that a democratic society is proud of.
Well as they all say... life too is an irony just like democracy....
